"Scouts lead the way"
Scott is marching in the Lord's Army
The following is the scripture Scott had over his door in Baghdad.
Psalms 144 1-2
1 A Psalm of David.
Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; 2 my rock and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield and he in whom I take refuge, who subdues the peoples under him.
A couple of months ago Scott sent this poem to his parents. Mary was very proud of it: We thought it appropriate to honor Scott Jr. in sharing it with you. Keep our dear friends close in thought and prayer.
Rejection, Correction
Blatant Deception
Why do I torment soldiers,
Is it they are young, and I am getting older and older?
Or is it that my cruel heart is getting colder and colder?
Is all that I want, is for all to do right?
Or are my selfish desires to look high and might?
I should be worrying for all of us to get home alive;
But what is killing me is my pride on which others burdens it thrives.
I can find insecurities and slash straight to the heart;
Looking at a heathen of this world you can't tell us apart.
I need to look up with a humble heart and mind;
And ask forgiveness from a God who's loving and kind.
I stand here in Iraq a born again Christian;
Its clear to me I have a mission.
To help direct souls of the hungry and lost;
And spread the Word no matter what the cost.
I hope if I die, they will remember me well;
And not just that jerk, on the day he fell.

PHILLIPAINS 3:10
10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 that if possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
PHILLIPIANS 1:20-21
20 as it is my eager expectation and hope that I shall not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
